I Was Not Aware of the Relationship Iran has with Saffron. Comes from My Favorite Plant, Crocus. Planted Quite a Bit Last Year.

SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth Crocus is a Small Plant with Only One Small Flower Per Plant. Each Flower Only has 3 small stigmas (Female Sex Organ) and Saffron is the Dried Stigmas. Takes a Lot of Crocus to make even a small amount With All My Crocus I Might have a Small Teaspoon Full if I was Very Lucky.

That region has been a saffron source for centuries. Can't remember name of company but there is a Vet Owned company that sells spices that was founded based on what they saw and found while stationed in Afghanistan
