The military veterans exiled from the US

It is never “really easy” as a rule to get citizenship. There are easy cases, but your anecdotal evidence of one person does not apply to every applicant or even every soldier applicant.

Immigration and tax are probably the two most complicated areas of American law, and talking points do little to clarify either.

LTC (Join to see) - One person? I know a LOT of people in my first unit who got their citizenship and a good majority of them were deployed when they got it. They all got waivers because they were military. I'm not basing it off one person.

Also most of the waiver programs are gone now, a result of the American people electing an extreme-right anti-immigrant president who appointed an extreme-right anti-immigrant senator as AG. They have killed almost all programs that help non-citizens to come, stay or naturalize.

But many of these people were in before the current administration so I'm wondering why they didn't take advantage of the opportunity to get their citizenship while they had it.
