A1C Ian Williams This is of special concern for me. I often recommend Lenovo laptops to people if they want to install Linux on a new machine. This is because there are no vendors here in Thailand that I know about that make Linux machines, and System 76 and others do not ship to Thailand.

A trusted duo for years, Lenovo will probably handle this fine but if I'm Ubuntu this is a serious black eye to prioritize. For all Ubuntu/Canonical has done for FOSS, this still adds to a list of ever-growing reasons to steer clear of the base distro.

SPC John Waisman Hardware issues like that is one of the reasons why I "distro-hopped" to Manjaro. Everything worked right out of the box. I was also able to boot off of the USB install media without having to use any special commands like I always had to do with Ubuntu.
