I still like reading the paper and keeping magazines not just for the John. As you know, smartphone batteries don't last very long and as soon as you switch over you may lose your page have to go to your recent searches to get back to the article you're reading. Nothing like having Papyrus, Papel etc in your hands instead of pixels on your smartphone.

To be fair, if the only reason it's really needed these days is to wipe our behinds... perhaps it is dead.

You only need one solid (waste) reason, but by all means, use snow, pine cones, 3 sea shells.

Having spent a spell in the UK, the Brits, despite their former glory and world-changing contributions to western civilization, never could figure out tp -- waxy on one side, grainy on the other. "Oh, great -- smear or scratch."

CPL Dave Hoover - I've heard of using red corncobs to wipe with, followed by a white corncob to make sure you got it all.

Good laugh.
Somehow, pixels on screens can't replace ink on pages, which you can flip back to check on something you read earlier.
