If the walls in the building were concrete, all of the people there probably would have been killed. As it were, the blast blew out where there was least resistance. These pictures are good in that it gives pictures of all of the main conspirators. Seeing the show trials conducted by the Nazi judges pictured here really opens one's eyes to the criminality of that government.

Excellent comment and very true. Thousands of lives could have been saved and the complete destruction of Germany could have been avoided with a negotiated surrender to the allied forces by the new government.

Bull crap, unconditional surrender was the only alternative. We and the British notified the germans that we would carpet bomb them until unconditional surrender. The Great Fatherland War in the Soviet Union was a fight to the death

American TV show "Mythbusters" recreated the bomb blast. Sadly, the team used too little explosive. Even with the briefcase on the table, the PSI was not enough to guarantee death considering the heavy wool uniforms that Hitler and crew were wearing. The British provided enough explosive but the person(s) who put the package together miscalculated how much would be needed to kill him.

I didn't like the Tom Cruise movie but I did appreciate a much earlier movie that told the story of Erwin Rommel and his link to the plot to assassinate Hitler. Germany had military officers loyal to Hitler and others that were loyal to their country.
