Paul Ryan is the guy who said that it was exceedingly generous that military retirees get 40 years of pension payments after only 20 years of service, far more than civilians get. So he championed a cut to all retirees under the age of 62, including those already retired, that reduced their COLA increases by 1% under what everyone else gets. He defended the cuts in an oped in a major paper. He thinks military retirees get over on the government if we make it through 20 years without needing a disability retirement.
His proposal became law, but fortunately was repealed by congress the next month before it could take effect. But there is no doubt where his heart lies. Military retirees are simply another group of overpaid people with overly generous government handouts to be used as bill payers for his deficit busting tax cuts for the rich. I'm still wondering why the defense budget is getting increased by billions, the rich are getting huge tax cuts, but I will be paying hundreds of dollars more next year for my medicine and doctor visits due to increases in tricare prime fees.

Military retirees: You betrayed us, Congress
Veterans who served their 20 years and retired from the military are outraged that Congress would take away what they earned serving in places like Iraq and Afghanistan.

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - without a doubt tricare prime is far, far better than any civilian job usually offers. But that's not the standard IMO to judge increases against. For example, copays for seeing my PCM go from $12 to 20, a 66% increase. If referred to a specialist, it's now $30 instead of $12, a 150% increase. And I can't recall where I saw the chart about the express scripts prescription fees going up, but they are significant as well, something like generics going from free to 10 or 12 and others going up even more. So added together, my costs will be several hundred dollars a year more for my wife and I next year. So I don't see the "taking care of the veterans" coming through in the next defense budget. I see the same old "let's use retirees as billpayers because their lobby isn't as strong as others".

A typical and not very imaginative hit piece appealing only to raw emotions. A waste of precious time

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - He's "done" a few things, undone a few more. He appointed Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court and he's done great good already (though I'm sure you'd disagree). He's reversed many of Obama's egregious executive orders. That's good, well, in my opinion. However, the greatest good has come from his mere presence in the White House. The working half of the nation has taken heart. The stock market is up (although it suffered at setback following the election in Alabama - it appears some fear that this might signal a waning of the positive influence). The economy is growing is like it hasn't done in a couple of decades. Jobs are up (although this is bad news for those who wish to live on welfare). Again, I'd go on, but it's all wasted with you, isn't it? You are determined to be grumpy, you poor baby. Well, you go enjoy your snit while the rest of us celebrate...

He appointed a religous demigod gge to the court ( and that only because of a corrupt Senate) and repealed some good rules. None of those things are good for the nation.

In response to Paul Ryan and retirees. He can kiss my a##. You should join up and give twenty or put you kids in and tell them after 20 that they don’t deserve what you promised them years ago.
