Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that December 9 is the anniversary of the birth of American inventor, entrepreneur, and naturalist Clarence Frank Birdseye II who is considered to be the founder of the modern frozen food industry.
I never realized that Birdseye was a last name for the founder of the Birdseye company :-)
I remember cooking frozen dinners as a young man in ovens long before microwaves were a concept for preparing food.
Frozen food has come a long way since the 1940's.
Rest in peace Clarence Frank Birdseye II!

So it was Mr. Birdseye who invented the underpinning technology for the gamut of Tyson Foods TV dinners and other frozen meals for the gourmet minus the skills to properly fry up some chicken.
