On this matter, I think everyone would do well to remember that the U.S. Congress passed a law in 1995, with overwhelming bipartisan support and then signed by President Clinton, to move our embassy to Jerusalem and recognize it as Israel's capital. President Trump is merely taking the extraordinary step of actually doing what our government promised and resolved to do.

Not exactly true:
Passed the Senate on October 24, 1995 (93–5
Roll call vote 496, via Senate.gov)
Passed the House on October 24, 1995 (374–37
Roll call vote 734, via Clerk.House.gov)
Left unsigned by President Bill Clinton and became law on November 8, 1995

Clinton did not sign the bill, but since it was veto-proof, it did not matter. He did, however, know this was not a good move for peace in the region.

MSG Stan Hutchison - Thank you for the correction, MSG. This article and others I read indicated that President Clinton did sign the law, but I'm sure you did the research so I appreciate the correction. http://www.newsweek.com/why-trump-moving-us-embassy-jerusalem-735597

MSG Stan Hutchison - What is true, however, is that a primary function of the Chief Executive is to execute the laws which the Congress has enacted. This is exactly what President Trump is doing, and good for him that he doesn't allow threats of violent reprisals to sway him from his duty.
