It seems the further up the flag pole you go, the less security conscious one becomes. Just because the Media asks does not mean you have to answer.

I was just pointing out that what you are referring to happens quite frequently on RP. And has been a point of discussion.
Sorry if you thought that I was taking it personal.
Considering how things currently are on RP and with past muck-ups when they have tried to consolidate post in the past, if there is a duplicate or similar posting, I am all for linking the other discussion in, especially since it is difficult to search for such items without specific fore-knowledge. It can even be difficult when trying to locate a discussion that you know is out there and even participated in, so if you can post a link at times, it is extremely helpful.

Everyone serving has a duty to question an unlawful order. I don't know about nuclear procedures, but I believe there is a process of verification. I believe it is time-sensitive as well and our survival could depend on a rapid response. I hope he doesn't lose his job because someone took his comment out of context, because he has served faithfully. Thanks for sharing.
Edit: After reading again, I'm reassured. I think it was spun to create doubt. He explains it by saying if there was some illegality he would advise POTUS, which is his job. They would then work through it and he did a fair job of clarifying that he would obey any legal order.
"I provide advice to the president, he will tell me what to do," Hyten added. "And if it's illegal, guess what's going to happen? I'm going to say, 'Mr. President, that's illegal.' And guess what he's going to do? He's going to say, 'What would be legal?' And we'll come up with options, with a mix of capabilities to respond to whatever the situation is, and that's the way it works. It's not that complicated."
