There is no such thing as an illegal nuclear launch. The President has the SOLE authority to order a strike. If he orders it, it's legal. Period. Ethical, moral? Those are other questions. I think the General was just trying to appease the press as best he could.

What is an illegal launch? Does this so-called top Nuclear Commander believe he has the legal authority to make such a decision? In the time it would take to do a serious investigation, our nation could be decimated. I read where Senator Corker was in a discussion with some military leadership on this topic. Dangerously close to sedition, IMO.

I think it is obvious that nobody would follow an illegal order. However, this whole nuclear thing is just a bunch of liberals over reacting and over reaching.

And it is both a stupid and very dangerous discussion to reveal exactly what our decision making procedure is at a time of Nuclear Proliferation to Rogue states. This only weakens our security and places us more at risk.

SPC Erich Guenther - Totally agree. But I'm sure by now everyone knows. I remember during one of the Presidential debates last year, Hillary was spilling the beans on the decision making timeline. Everyone should keep their mouths shut when it comes to things like this.

MSgt (Join to see) - Except once an idiot says it on national TV, it is out there, it is not like Russia and China will forget it...or promise not to use that info in their decision making.
