SFC (Join to see) So two of the seven on the list I was already familiar with. The viking grave, and the Peat Bog Bodies. The theory I had seen on the viking grave was that they were executed, but in true viking style the didn't strike the back of the neck severing the spinal cord with the initial strike and making it a relatively pain free affair, they struck the front of the neck looking their victims in the eye as they took their heads. As for the peat bodies, the Germanic tribes had no problem with sacrificing a person. There is evidence that they would drown the people who tended to sacred animals after a festival as the only ones allowed to touch the animal and tell were the priests and priestesses, ergo if you had the high honor of tending the animal, you had the high honor of being sacrificed as well. Gotta love the Vikings.

I watched that as well when it was first discovered. Fascinating non the less. I found the Roman whore bath house sad though. But again, it was a form of slavery so I’m sure the mothers had no choice in the matter. Something that is still practiced today in China as we speak. Only they throw the girls out. Could have been why they at first thought they were female. You would think they would have found profit in selling young male slaves I read of throwing them in the toilet persay. Just sad all the way around I suppose.

SFC (Join to see) - it is sad that some 2000 years after the Roman Empire the same behavior still exists. It has just been given a sanitized name. Instead of slavery we call it human trafficing. Same end result. The world is over populated, but slaughtering babies because they are the wrong gender is ridiculous. It is surprising as you said that boys weren't sold into slavery. Then again, the infant mortality rate was extremely high at that time, and I cannot imagine that a pregnant slave received any kind of care. More likely wait until she pops the kid out, give her a couple of days to heal up, and then back to work.

It is rather unfair of me to use those girls for a comparison... I mean they aren't Miss North Dakota... excuse me Miss America.. but aren't trolls. LTC John Shaw SCPO Morris Ramsey ..
(By the way Miss North Dakota is the current miss America in case you didn't know..... She looks just like the rest of our girls so it was no surprise to me. Some are blonds, some are redheads, but up here where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average it does take a special something to stand out.)
