No free lunches. Anyone that offers free downloads for things that the actual vendor charges for, are immediately suspect. Best to pay the cash after thoroughly researching legitimate reviews to ensure it works and has no bad side effects. Plan B is some of the reputable download sites, but beware of them as well. Scan after download and before installing to ensure it's not malware or worse. Most of those are either a "Lite" version without the full features, or free only for a trial period. If the app is worth having, it's worth paying for to ensure peace of mind. Avoid impulse buying from ads. Things like apps that claim to speed up your connection are usually bogus. They just tweak some settings, but your bandwidth is regulated by the provider. Minor adjustments might make slight improvements but they are usually not noticeable to the average user. A graph or chart may show 25% improvement, but it's usually minimal at best. The "free" tag is exploited by bad actors and should be interpreted as "beware" for that reason.
