Thanks for sharing Maj Marty Hogan of course your realize that only Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, John Fogerty and Maynard James Keenan served honorably enough to be discharged with honorable discharges.
I had to chuckle when I read Maynard James Keenan was assigned to USMAPS and he turned down an appointment to USMA sometime after 1981. In those days USMAPS was at Fort Monmouth, NJ.
FYI I attended USMAPS from August 1975 to July 1976 and I was admitted as a USMA cadet after I received an appointment from a PA Congressman.

I though Hendrix's right arm cocked up on his waist to be the most unsoldierly portrait of a U.S. Army paratrooper that I have seen. I would think the photographer would have back handed him and told him to lock up his body.
