Well ... I don't know whether to view this as police brutality against women, black male brutality against a white woman, or simply a disruptive and violent person showing her ass ... and getting it deservedly kicked. I'm all in for the LEO ... seems to me he reacted reasonably given the exigent demands of the moment. Sure neutralized the threat!

While being held by other officers she was not restrained. For her and the officers safety they should have cuffed her and the walked of carried her out.

I am a police officer. Have you ever tried wrestling with a 117 pound drunk girl? I have, and she was squirrley as hell, it took eight police officers to hold her down. If they pepper spray her, everybody within 20ft would be pepper sprayed as well. Taser isn't an option also because all those officers are in contact with her and would be tasered too due to contact. Sometimes it's impossible to get somebody in cuffs until they are into another area. She got what she deserved. Let it be a reminder that you don't assault police officers.

Ok as a Police Officer/ Police Instructor, UoF expert, I think that officer is going to find himself in hot water. there were other officers caring her out as well. One on One it may have been justified......They rule it as justified but if I Were on the review board.....I would vote for some kind of censure. It being a woman has nothing to do with it....4 officers having a hold of her does.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - its not that he hit the subject, he hit her while other officers were holding her is the problem I see. They had her held up in the air and were carrying her out.......If a female offender wants to "Buck UP" and take a swing at an officer one on one......by all means lay her out....but four on one and hoisted in the air is going to be problematic

Ok. I understand your position. I personally don't see anything wrong with it even with the other officers holding her, but I'm not his supervisor or on the review board.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - its going to look like he hit her in anger....not in stopping the threat....the UoF Continuum is a very fluid thing that is never the same twice. Number of Officers Present, Number of Subjects present. Department SOPs...the list goes on. Unfortunately where really is no one size fits all

What I see is a disorderly and combative defendant , who is not under control and has her hand free and activly assaulting an officer. Is it pretty no, is the force used to stop her assault on the officer excessive no the disparity of size was the defendant's Miss judgement her alcholic state and the meat fact 4 officers could not get her under control is evedence that the officers use of force way with in limits of proper use of force.
