They were promised American military service benefits for their service. This is us essentially saying, "yeah, I'll call you tomorrow" on the morning after.

Sgt Randy Wilber Hmm... Acknowledgement is nice, but they got the bait and switch. Imagine enlisting and then when the war ended, the government agencies reneged on VA compensation, disability, GI Bill, health care, SGLI, etc. It's a dirty deal.
I admit, I'm biased though. My grandfather's brother died in WWII. His name is on a war memorial in the Philippines honoring Filipinos who fought alongside Americans.

I see why it frustrates you for sure I didn't know the whole story. I assumed something was wrong at the time after WWII ended or the Gov wouldn't be giving the Filipino Veterans the metals now, it's sad that your grandfather's brother got wronged I'm just glad that the Filipino Veterans finally got some recognition.
