This is the kind of political post I like. Whether or not I agree is immaterial. These guys have a well grounded topic, come armed with facts and no propaganda, have a coherent argument based on knowledge, and an appropriate passion for the topic.

This is a very troubling discussion on the peril upon the Republic of the continuing resolution for defense spending. The U.S. Navy ships are wearing out at a much faster than expected tempo due to a high need by theater commanders and if a means is not found to fund ships throughout their lifecycles alongside of funding new warships to take their place we as a nation will suffer great harm. I personally do not understand how the Senate and its Armed Forces Committee does not demand installation of a sensible program to keep the Navy sustained with the very top deployment of high technology. The Navy must control 3 oceans along national shoreline plus exert real control worldwide. Anything less will result in a military deployment theater somewhere not having needed naval resources and so lives will be lost because needed force could not come when necessary. The U.S. suffered the loss of many thousands of people when the Empire of Japan rolled up the west Pacific flank and was only stopped at Midway Island through the use of stellar intelligence. Never again should United States' commanders tell parents their offspring were lost in battle because deployed forces were overwhelmed by a foreign adversary.
