Delta...not cool. They apologized, but by then the disrespect had been done.
In America. On an American airline. To honor a deceased American soldier, KIA. And an American citizen is forbidden by a flight attendant from singing the American national anthem?
Fire the flight attendant to close the loop fully -- she is not coachable, and her default is power, not respect. Fire her out of respect for the millions of Americans who instinctively do the right thing.

This article makes me so angry, I'm without words! Most folks will tell you that doesn't happen very often!

I'd be interested to know the demographics of the Stew. Does it matter, no. But it's like all evidence. It gives us a bigger picture to examine.

I'm not entirely convinced that Delta, per se, is responsible. I'm more inclined to think ill of the plane crew. I'm not in possession of enough info. to really decide, but I'm heartbroken at a number of faults here. I'm disappointed that the passengers didn't stand tall, but I do understand their fears. The federal govt. has consistently backed the crew on almost every occasion. I understand that the pilot relayed instructions to the attendant to prevent a "group reaction" by the passengers. Whether it was fear of a situation which he couldn't control, or a desire to exercise his own beliefs or political views I don't know. What I DO know is that this reminds me of the social attitudes towards my fallen comrades during my service. Ignoring or demeaning the fallen was common in my day. I'm actually grateful that I wasn't present for this, I'm quite sure I would have ended up with civil and/or criminal charges before things were over. I don't advocate violence, but I have sworn a second oath that prohibits tolerance of this kind of disrespect to our honored fallen, and just like the first I haven't been and won't be relieved of the obligation.

There was certainly blame and "no balls" enough to go around. I'm convinced the Stew just stuck her own stupid foot in her own, big, stupid mouth!!!
