It seems futile to me to define Western Civilization in an open thread. It's a subject that hasn't been taught broadly in our schools and colleges for a long time. Indeed, most teachers and professors indoctrinated in the philosophy of the Progressive Left have been teaching our children to revile Western Civilization for several decades now. One of the more laughable aspects of their assault is that they claim moral relativism, that all cultures are equal, neither good nor bad, then teach that all others are superior to Western Civilization. How then can you expect to engage in an open discussion of it in such an environment?

I generally agree, but we must try to teach our young men and women, passing on our knowledge and culture as best we can before we cross the rainbow bridge.

SSG Diane R. - I suppose, but it's going to be difficult when all your efforts will be beaten back by their teachers and professors and, in many cases these days, by their parents and peers.

Decline of Western Civilization, the anti-fascist years at Berkeley. I remember a few months back or Ann Coulter was going to speak at UC Berkeley and all these anti-fascist unemployed Occupy Wall Street druggie types who don't belong to UC Berkeley came on campus and started burning stuff. I'm not a fan of Ann Coulter but when you have these crazies that other thing to do on campus come in there and stop democracy in action, it makes you think what would Plato, Socrates and Aristotle have said about them not being able to speak at UC Berkeley?

We fight for this great nation, so war doesn't come to the homefront.
