Although most of us knew the 9th circuit was biased, spiteful and legally wrong in its blocking of the so-called travel ban, the blocking received lots and LOTS of coverage. I expect this news will receive very little.

Yes, there were plenty on the left here that were 100% sure the supreme court would uphold the lower courts decision. Those that actually read the Constitution and the law knew better.

The most objective source I could find (not snopes, not politifact, or fox, or msnbc) was from an American Bar Association article from Feb 2010 (admittedly not current, although the 9th also suffered the highest reversal rate in 2014). It shows reversal rates of 80%
and 83%, for the Ninth Circuit and Federal Circuit, respectively, compared to a median
reversal rate of 68% across all appeals courts. The article also makes clear the picture is more complex than just reversal rates, and ends up giving the 9th a "C-" grade on a normal distribution curve. The Federal Circuit earned the lowest grade, a "D".
