SSG Hill: I am not sure who your remarks were for but every soldier I know would appreciate them. To clarify, I was referring to how troops revered DS's during this time period (1965). We all knew that if you were infantry and serving during this time that the Drill Sergeant was just trying to keep you alive in the future, so listen to them. We had a hell of a lot of respect for you guys that learned life's lessons the hard way. I just thought it was funny for a troop to even speak to a DS unless called upon. I thank you for your service to America and to us as troops.
