A lot of hoo-ha over nothing.
1. "Has tons of missiles." Yeah...so? How does it quide said missiles? Are they fire and forget missiles? (no). Can they keep more than one missile in the air at once? (no). So having "tons of missiles" is a moot point.
2. No dipping SONAR? Ooops. Count on a submarine torpedo at a most inopportune moment.
3. Its the first ship. NEVER SAIL ON THE FIRST SHIP. Tons of bugs to work out. Teething problems. Sorry China - thats how the rest of the world works.

PO3 Donald Murphy just like the soviets, pile on the missiles no matter if the ship is a hunk of junk it has lots of potential.
