As simple as it sounds to us now, I can't imagine the thought processes that must have been involved in coming to a conceptualization of plate tectonics. Thanks for the share, Wayne.

I was immediately fascinated during the 50s in 6th grade when we learned about Wegener's Continental Drift theory. Certainly made sense. Anyone can see how the continents fit together like pieces of a puzzle, even a child. Proving it is something, else!
By the time I enrolled in a Geology class in the 90s (as an older student) we were all the way to Plate Tectonics being a theory, and to Geology actually being recognized as a science - the journey to recognition apparently having been fraught with difficulties!
