“While Senior Chief Barry may obtain justice as a result of the hearing, until Senator Gillibrand and others stop meddling in military justice cases, justice will be thwarted,” Mr. Sheldon said. “The bottom line here is that the top echelons of the Navy JAGC failed to do the right thing and that cost a man three years of his life.”
EXACTLY!
These cases are being unduly influenced by the political activities going on in recent years, resulting in cases going to Courts-Martial that should never have. The push by these people is to try and convict, regardless. That undermines the "Justice" part of "Uniform Code of Military Justice".
Each case should be on its own merits, regardless of the crime in question.
