I have worked for Rayonier Advanced Materials for about 6 months. RYAM currently employees many veterans and I have had the privilege of helping several veterans gain employment in the last 6 months. RYAM has locations in Jacksonville, Fernandina Beach and Jesup, GA. With so many veterans in the Jacksonville area, reaching them is a challenge. Please help spread the word to our fellow veterans in the area and follow the RYAM page linked in...

COL Mikel J. Burroughs Thank you for the share, Colonel! RYAM is a great company to work for and very veteran friendly. Being so close to the Jacksonville area, making veterans in that area aware of this company is my new mission!

Thanks. If they expand to New Hampshire, a state where we have the 4th highest per capita number of veterans, I'd like to look into them more deeply.

This looks like a great opportunity for our veterans, LTJG Josh Thaxton. Noticing that transportation and logistics folks are in high demand...are there military specialties or backgrounds that you feel align really well to this kind of work at RYAM?

Absolutely! Being a Navy fella, I feel that most of the rates fit well with RYAM. We hire Welders, Electricians, Instrumentation Mechanics, Pipefitters and entry level Production Workers and Utility Reserves at our Jesup and Fernandina Beach locations. The rates that come to my mind, when thinking of those positions are: AT, AE, ET, HT, AMS/AMH, AK and SK. At our Jacksonville location, Corporate location, we are always looking for Analysts with different skill sets, so Intelligence Specialists or Intelligence Officers. Logistics is another military skill that transitions very well to RYAM opportunities, Storekeepers and Supply Officers come to mind.
This doesn't include the soft skills that a veteran brings to the table, which all veterans offer. I firmly believe that us, veterans, bring so much life experience, attention to detail and social skills that we picked up in our service that a civilian doesn't bring to the table. So to answer your question, an overall military background or any rate or rank aligns VERY WELL with Rayonier Advanced Materials. Thanks for the question, Brandon!

LTJG Josh Thaxton - I couldn't agree more Josh. Being in the manufacturing business, we have a plethora of jobs that a veteran could easily transition their military experience to. Our company is quickly growing and there are so many opportunities for career growth and development within Rayonier Advanced Materials.
