Your comment could not be more dead on. The way that Congress PLAYS with the lives of service members and their families every year at federal budget time is immoral and borderline criminal.

Can someone please sum this up for me. I read the Article and I'm kind of confused.... I read about raising the price on mailed pharmaceutical drugs and reducing the pay raise. I remember when Obama was president I can remember we got one pay raise and it was offset with higher taxes. The second was at the end of his term that actually made a difference in our service members survival. I'm happy with Trump so far but can someone sum it up for me like I'm a 4 year old. =]

SFC (Join to see) TRICARE is making several changes beginning 1 January. Check out the below link. Plan names and options will change, CONUS regions will go from three to two. With that said, the push is to use MTF, or your care will be considered in network on non-network which will impact cost shares and co-payments. For pharmacy, formulary drugs are the choice using the Express Scripts mail order refill system. Supposedly to save money for the DoD. With over 30 years affiliated with the Federal Government - Active Duty, Reservist, and Civilian, every year when I received a pay raise - the gross increased while take home/net decreased. All businesses know we are getting the annual cost of living pay raise, and thus raise their prices accordingly. Not mention, taxes increase, and the pay increase may push you into a higher tax bracket. It is a shame that the Armed Forces has Service Members who qualify for Food Stamps and WIC. Check out the down loadable files and be prepared for the changes so that you don't have a lapse in coverage. Another sad thing is our tax dollars fund most of the medical studies, and then medicines are over priced. The studies are fabricated causing more problems and sometimes result in class action suits. Sorry, I did not answer your question.

The Military Health System (MHS) is modernizing TRICARE to better serve you and respond to changes in law and policy. Most provisions will go into effect on January 1, 2018, with full implementation occurring on January 1, 2019.
