When I was a Company Commander my 1SG was 6'6" and played football for the Army in Germany. I remember our 1st PT formation. He told me - "... Sir - just follow my lead..." I did and after the 3 mile run I thought - man this guy is an animal - he was and he made me a better Company Commander

My 1st NCOIC was 6'7. All of the men on site were no taller than 5"8. What was hard to understand was he was a m60a* tank crewman during Vietnam.
