I think the only honor in Vietnam was the honor we had for each other, those of us that served whether drafted or enlisted held true to the Oath, and upon returning home faced a public that blamed us for the government 's conduct of the war,no wonder the Veterans of Vietnam seem clannish and outcasts, they like their Brothers from the Korean War had only themselves to hold true to,my opinion for what its worth.

Interesting topic. When one looks back at the war you can see the changes evolving year by year with the soldiers. Back home the newspapers cowed to Johnson and Nixon until the protestors came out of the woodwork, then they joined the cacaphony against the war. All who served in Vietnam did so with honor. I disagree with his view regarding those that were awarded the Medal of Honor. He denigrates those that won the medal. He states the MoH was given for getting other servicemen home alive, not for winning a war. Until we recognized the government and higher military was not going to support us 100% many fought and died in the belief it was their duty to give their all to defeat the communists.
