Interesting PO1 William "Chip" Nagel. Everybody who does not and will not serve Christ is serving Satan by definition. However, we do not know who will come to Christ eventually and who won't so it is best not be breathing fire as a chaplain IMHO.
I was unlikely to come to Christ and yet just before I reached the age of 31 I did.

CW3 Lindsey Muller - I have seen God raise a dead child in my arms while I argued with HIM decades ago. In the past few years HE has killed people after letting me know. I never asked for that but I have learned that God is sovereign.
HE destroyed the vehicle which the wife who deserted my son took from him without killing the inhabitants.
HE healed my wife of Lyme disease after doctors and insurance gave up on her.
Generally God speaks to me every day- usually He adjusts my plans or confirms them.
You and I will be dead soon enough and this conversation will be erased by whomever keeps track of who dies.

PO2 Robert Aitchison - I met many. However I worked with the Israeli Air Force for a few years on an FMS contract and got to spend time with many Jews from different branches of their faith. The more orthodox Jews tended to believe the Biblical account of Satan in the Old Testament.

Being an atheist, I avoided military chaplains like they had the plague for this very reason. Either that or I would get lectures trying to "convert" me. There was only one chaplain I respected immensely because he didn't do either and spoke to others like adults not subjects in pews.

SPC Casey Ashfield, I never did much care for preachers that talk with a preachy voice. Thankfully, my pastor talks to the church on Sundays with a normal voice that is easy to listen to. He doesn't scream at us and tell us we're all sinners and going to hell unless we repent and throw money in the collection plates.
We know we're sinners in need of God's forgiveness and we're thankful that Jesus made it possible for us to have our broken fellowship restored. We give out of a cheerful heart and not because we desire or are promised blessings in return.
We believe in the absolute truths in the Bible but acknowledge that we aren't know-it-alls and don't understand everything written in the Bible. No man does. But that doesn't stop us from learning as much as we can about Him in this life so that we might spend the rest of eternity in His presence learning more.
All this runs counter to our natural instincts to deny God and put ourselves first. It's difficult for many to grasp how one could find true happiness and be blessed in greater measure when they sacrifice their desires and yield to that which God wants for them... and for us as well. : )
