And who gave them amnesty? Remember that there are no indigenous Americans. We're all immigrants including this man's tribes. And, there is not one square inch of the Americas (or any other place on Earth) that wasn't won by conquest. There were tribes that his tribe defeated and drove away so they could occupy their hunting grounds.

IIRC, syphilis was introduced to Europe by Columbus and his crew, who contracted it from Native Americans. Many of the crew later served in a war between Italy and France, spreading the disease as they deployed. The French referred to it as "the Italian disease", while the Italians called it "the French disease".

I just watched (for like the tenth time) the GOP Primary debate of 1980 in which Candidate Ronald Reagan and Candidate George H.W. Bush competed on how to out-nice each other on amnesty, and then Reagan went on to sign the only real amnesty ever issued.
It was the right thing to do then, and is the right thing to do now.
