MAJ Ronnie Reams - No they're not, Major. Tridents are one of the few insignia that is gold for both enlisted and officers. Silver Tridents were abolished in the '70's.

At least he owned up to his lie, and actually DID serve. There are many that steal valor and have no regrets. Give the man a break and look in your past and see all the stuff you've gotten away with that you have never, and will never own up to.

Let me say this. I have never served in our beloved military, put I protect those who do. I can't imagine what you guys go through I'm the field, but I commend you all for fighting for this great country. However, since the man did serve, and embellished awards, let up on him for apologizing. God forgives and expects us to, so don't bully him into something far worse that could come from this.
