These are real stories written by college educated "journalists" and put out for the masses.
We used to only name hurricanes with women's names until about 1980 and we started using men's names because women's groups complained it was sexist to name storms only with women's names. Now they complain that storms named after men are taken more seriously. It must be a real problem to be so insecure that you think the mere application of a mans name will cause people to take something more seriously.
I wonder if they know the name lists are created before the season and the names are merely applied in sequence of the storm creation. There will be a call for androgynous naming conventions now. We will only be able to use names like Pat, Chris, Kerry and the like. We have some really stupid people in the media that hold tremendous sway with the ignorant masses.

Don't forget a couple of years ago there were racist complaints that only "white" names are used to name hurricanes.

CNN is now a parody of itself. Let me know when they do something rational. That will be real news

It is a cool project political angles aside. I think the project itself is just awesome.
