The biggest myth is that the idiots that want to control guns are open to facts... Yes sarcasm!

Anti Gun groups probably some of the most the most ironic people I have ever met. They want the system to get rid of the second amendment but quite a few of them don't like or trust the federal government too it's really confusing.

MSgt Cayle Harris While I agree with most of the points made, there is one that doesn't add up, literally. If criminals acquire almost 80% of their firearms from friends or family, and almost 40% get them from illegal purchases, that means add up to over 100% of criminal firearm acquisitions. I am sure that there are some who do purchase firearms legally. Additionally, it doesn't account for crimes of passion in which a firearm is used. Overall I would agree that the average criminal element is not going to acquire an implement with which they intend to commit a crime through legal channels. That being said there are some stupid criminals who have the mentality that they will not be caught, and therefore there is no reason to exercise caution. I know that I hate going to the range here after gun show weekends. The lines are miles long filled with gun show purchasers filling out paperwork. Then for the next week there are no lanes available because the purchasers are testing their new purchases. So to anyone saying that the "Gun Show Loophole" is a real thing, I say where? I wanna go where the gun shows don't jam up my range time.

MSgt Cayle Harris - Is that the you can by "ghost" guns on the internet, or the "If it is on the internet, it must be true." I actually did by a firearm over the internet. I then went to the gun store, filled out my paperwork, waited for the background check, then collected my firearm. So I hadn't even thought about that tall tale.

PO3 Steven Sherrill I have heard people say you can purchase online without going through a background check. In actuality you end up going through 2. The company you purchase from does one to make sure they aren't shipping it for no reason. Then once it arrived at your ffl, you go through another one in order to pick it up.

IF the gun sale is within the same state no background check is required between private citizens.
