People will be going out of state for their smokes, like people from Michigan do.

They have been doing that since 2005, when the tax rose the price to $7.50. Back then, everyone thought THAT was expensive. Actually, compared to other states it was. I think some states were selling them at $3-4 still.

"We'll just tax the people into doing what we want". They want people to not smoke, but they like the tax money. So they tax the crap out of the thing people are addicted to. Same with soda.
