Sorry ... but I wouldn't demean any of my relatives by using them in an effort to score some kind of political "gotcha" on whatever administration is in power. Poor title for the article. Wonder if the author served or is just using his parent to underwrite his own POV. Pathetic in any case.

Okay PO1 Tony Holland so Daniel Geery seems to be upset because his dad died fighting national socialists and Daniel seems to think that the progressive socialists of our century are so much better.
No surprise there.

1. LTC (Join to see) Socialism as defined by Merriam Websters "a social system or theory in which the government owns and controls the means of production (as factories) and distribution of goods." Nazi Germany certainly fits the definition of socialism as the state and Hitler's cronies controlled industry notably Krupp and the concentration/extermination camps provided forced labor for government sanctioned production.
2. MSG Mark Million it may be correct to compare statisticians and those who misuse statistical inference to political names since both are varied and tend to change over time. However statistics is "a branch of mathematics dealing with the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of masses of numerical data."
3. 1stSgt Nelson Kerr I did not equate national socialists to progressive socialists. I said "Daniel seems to think that the progressive socialists of our century are so much better [than the national socialists]."

NAZI corporate supporter did very well under the NAZIS running third own business until war started. During the war German companies were Under less control than US companies. The latter fact cost them dearly.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - granted, the companies were not directly government-controlled. However many if not most had firm production goals set by the German government.

That is true of any war time economy at least since the age of total war.
Itwas true of the Confederacy for that matter, it probably would have been true of the North if the economies were not so mismatched. That is just the nature of the beast. I brought in the because it is arguably the first modern" total war."

Of course President Trump never praised people who wore swastikas and carried torches in Charlottesville. But never allow the truth to stand in the way of a good rant (propaganda)

CPT Jack Durish - Hahahahaha! I swear that that guy is either three sheets to the wind 95% of the time, or he types with his knee. Seriously, check out his Facebook page sometime. Just chock full of hate for police, religion, etc. Pretty much every decent thing gets a nod from the hate head there.

SSG (Join to see) - thanks, but I'd rather not. BTW, how's Aberdeen these days. Many fond memories of watching the canon cockers there taking shots at the channel marker between it and Poole's Island and sinking it

CPT Jack Durish - I'm at the APG formerly known as Edgewood Arsenal...LOL! They call it all APG now. Of course, on our side of things we just have nothing but chemicals and some schools like mine. But daily we hear them shooting at the APG North range. Amazing how loud it can be here, almost 20 minutes away. Oddly, when we take the MP students to the MK19 range at APG North, the things they are shooting are the exact same volume as when I hear them here!
