I'm not certain that statues are being torn down in the name of historical revisionism. It seems more like a desperate attempt to craft an issue that the Democrats can use to regain some "popular" support in the upcoming elections. At the moment they have no leadership, no message, and no money. Furthermore, more Senate seats currently held by Democrats are up for grabs than those held by Republicans. 2018 has all the earmarks of a continuing disaster for the DNC. Rewriting history isn't going to help, but ramping up the stakes in their game of identity politics is their only hope.

CPT Jack Durish Agreed, they aren't been torn down by the misguided youth today, but this is facilitating something the Democrats have always wanted as evidenced by their denial of their history. As the saying goes, "The time is right."

The statues are a distraction to the main goal which is to try to whip the ignorant masses into a frenzy, get them aligned mentally with groups like Antifa so the communist/Marxist agenda becomes easier to swallow. Make no mistake, Antifa is a communist group and they are using communist tactics. Many of our youth are ignorant of the methods because they are not taught (at least as being a negative thing).
Orwell might have been prophetic when he penned these words about the future:
"There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always—do not forget this, Winston—always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face … for ever".
