We have been repeating this tale for decades, but it doesn't seem to get through. It must be obvious by now that you cannot reason with fear. Maybe what we should focus on is reducing fear, that or teach people to fear that which should be feared. Maybe then they'll want a gun.

Thank you for the comment Jack, and you are spot on! It never ceases to make me wonder about some people. Those that have never been exposed to violence from others, who have lived fairly sheltered lives that are the loudest about these issues. Let them spend a few days riding with the local PD or sheriff's office and see the violence and death first hand, and most have a change of heart.

SGT Chris Wagoner - Maybe. I'm not sure. I have great faith in the common sense of the average American citizen. However, there are many who aren't average and you just can't fix stupid.

CPT Jack Durish - You are right, but as we say at the Police Academy I run, "You can't fix stupid, but you can give it a court date!" ;)

Some day, probably not soon. People will see that firearms are tools. Tools are worthless with out a human to use them.
But to blame the firearms for crime....?
Ok let's apply that thought to everyday life. Silverware makes people fat. Writing untensal mispell words. Vehicles kill people by running them over. When does this way of thinking stop? Inademate object aren't the cause. Sorry antis, go look somewhere else.
