CPT Jack Durish the guy filling in for Rush today pointed out a story where a female Olympian has been suspended from any competition this year because she tested positive for testosterone. It was traced back to a lip balm she was prescribed to use by a doctor for treatment of some small ailment.
He brought up the conundrum. If female athletes can be suspended/disqualified for positive presence of testosterone, then how is it trans men competing as women are not?

It would seem that this decision negates any such testing in the future, doesn't it?

CPT Jack Durish - very much so. It will last so long as they get no complaints, which I figure will last until the first heat when the controversy raises it's head.

This stuff is more complicated then one news article can cover.
One thing for sure is intersex athletes were raised as one sex and most identify as that sex.
Outing them as intersex is attacking there very sincerely and deeply held identity as male or female.

Accept its complicated enough you obviously do not understand the difference between intersex and a deceitfully problematic umbrella term transgender.
Don't pat yourself on the back so quickly!

PFC Lisa McDonald - I am sorry that you felt the need to down vote my post. But the article that I posted reinforces the issues that the IOC is going to have. They are not going to require ANY gender exams or testing. So, yes, intersex will be allowed to compete, but what is going to prevent a pre-op transgender from competing (just like the article, of which that is not the only instance)? You, I am guessing, are assuming that I am an insensitive cretin. Well, FWIW, I was the only person that would take 3 of my transgendered friends to the Dr's offices for their appointments when they were too sick to take themselves. I also found the bodies of 2 of them that committed suicide because they never could get the mental health counseling they needed (1990's). So, my views are based on those experiences and what they taught me... Have a great day.

Transgender is really a weaselly term.
Its suppose to be an umbrella term not a self-identity.
Should a person who does not want to take hormones or have surgery be allowed to claim they are the same thing as a transsexual?
The language is all screwed up and I blame transgender activist for it.
I do not believe one year on hormones is enough for someone who underwent male puberty.
I believe at a minimum it should be two years plus surgery.
I am saying that and I went through the process.
