Korea: Danger On The DMZ - July 27 1953 to October 3 1991

The last few years since we have heard rumblings on the national news about North Korea, especially since Kim the 2nd died and his fat little boy Kim the 3rd took over.

Mind you all, this is nothing new. North Korea has been a violent and crazed nation since the Armistice was signed July 27 1953. So this kind of crap has been going on 64 years, why people seem so shocked? Maybe if we look back and learn from history, would not be surprised.

I spent a total of 13 years on 3 different tours in Korea. What is shocking to most, is normal to many of us especially those of us who served there 1991 and before... Reason I state 1991, is that we turned our last sector over to the ROKs on October 3 that year. For 38 years before that, we guarded and patrolled the DMZ. Incidents happen all the damn time, and most were never reported outside the peninsula.
