Better yet, instead of folks letting a third party provide interpretation; read it for yourselves and come to your own conclusions:

We say we shouldn't trust the news media, and that should include those we which tell us versions of stories we WANT to hear. Read the source documents.

Excellent post. I read the bill at the link you provided. While a bit sensationalized, the article appears to me to be pretty accurate. I noted this in the bill ...
[begin quote]SEC. 3. Chapter 2.45 (commencing with Section 1439.50) is added to Division 2 of the Health and Safety Code, to read:
CHAPTER 2.45. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Long-Term Care Facility Resident’s Bill of Rights [end quote]
That explains where the reference to "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Long-Term Care Facility Resident's Bill of Rights" originates.

LTC (Join to see) - I came to the same conclusion. I couldn't find anything directly talking about imprisonment, but I did find SB 219 does reference, "1439.54. A violation of this chapter shall be treated as a violation under Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 1250), Chapter 2.4 (commencing with Section 1417), or Chapter 3.2 (commencing with Section 1569)."
Of which Section 1417.1, Chapter 2.4 lists civil sanctions, but since SB 219 has not gone through yet, it does not yet have its verbiage listed yet.

It is the intent of the Legislature in enacting this chapter to establish (1) a citation system for the imposition of prompt and effective civil sanctions against long-term health care facilities in violation of the laws and regulations of this state, and the federal laws and regulations as applicable to nursing facilities as defined in subdivision (k) of Section 1250, relating to patient care; (2) an inspection and reporting system to ensure...

Thats because it doesn't exist. What does exist is a conservative media (it was started by Breitbart) with an extreme right-wing agenda spreading lies (aka alternative facts).
