Until NFL demands show of patriotism from all players and coaches during anthem, I choose to not attend or watch their programming. No big deal to them I know, but matter of principal for me.

College football,Colonel. In the south it's a religion (SEC). I know the congregations are a bit smaller on Saturdays/Sundays. I'm Catholic & attend vigil Mass on saturdays. When Bulldogs/Yellowjackets/Crimson Tide/War Eagles/Tigers play the church is mighty empty.

What an idiot, Sgt Wayne Wood. Guess he hasn't been watching Kaepernick's career spiraling out of control.

He came out of retirement to (supposedly) play for Oakland. He's made his pile, and more power to him.

SPC Chris Benson - Why does that make him a shitbag? Lots of people don't vote and honestly, voting for President is a waste of time as the Electoral College chooses. If not one person voted for President, they would choose. It's voting for members of Congress and local elections that matter.

SPC Chris Benson - It got people talking. It put a spotlight on the fact we have racist cops and laws being applied unjustly to some people and not others.
No it doesn't disrespect those who died for this country. They are using their right to speech. If anything that honors those who died MORE than the people who say their patriotic by singing the song or waving a flag.
In fact the anthem wasn't made the national anthem until 1931. Before that it was only recognized as official use in 1916 and was used by the Navy in 1889. So until 1931 it was just a song and it wasn't the national anthem. So funny that it didn't represent our country until 1931...

Ok and? No one cares about your boycott of the NFL - least of all the NFL. I'd rather have people do this than mowing people down in the streets.
Obviously you care enough to boycott the NFL and post about this.

SPC Chris Benson - I knew there would be at least one person who would defend the actions in Virginia.
It's pretty sad to me that so many people are defending what happened there and are so worked up over this. It's really sad too that so many more people defend the KKK and white supremacists' right to "free speech" than they do these players who just kneel or sit during a fucking song. It's just a song. It's a song. It doesn't make you more patriotic to stand during it. Do you have it on your IPod? Do you listen to it regularly? I doubt it and most Americans don't.
They aren't protesting the nation - they're protesting the government and policies and laws.
Why do people always say "If you don't like it leave." That's the complete OPPOSITE of being American. So I guess the colonists should have just left here when they were being mistreated by England huh? I mean they didn't like it just leave right? I bet some people told them that then. Smh.

SPC Chris Benson - I never said that people who voted for Trump are Nazis (although 99% is a high number when you look at the crowd that was out there this weekend). BUT the fact that people voted for Trump even knowing that he has the support of alt right, white supremacists and Nazis and hearing what he says (or doesn't say in not denouncing them) you are silently approving of these actions.
Did anyone say this is the worst rally ever? Nope. And people did denounce the rioters and looters in Ferguson (who were not from Ferguson at all nor affiliated with BLM) and the other cities you mentioned. I will agree to disagree with you that Obama emboldened anyone.
So what if Kapernick didn't vote - lots of people didn't vote. Voting for President is a waste of time anyway because our votes DON'T MATTER when it comes to the Electoral College. They don't matter. They literally don't matter at all. If not one person voted for POTUS, the Electoral College chooses. Actually the President isn't even actually voted in until December when the EC meets. Voting only matters for Congress or local government. That - is - it. So I don't really care if people don't vote for President. Guess what? I didn't vote in 2008 because I was deployed and we moved twice so I couldn't get an absentee ballot in time. I didn't vote in 2012 because I thought I was deploying and it was up until the last minute I didn't so I couldn't get an absentee ballot then because I missed the deadline.
It actually does not piss me off that people use the flag or anthem to peacefully protest. As long as people are using their own flags I don't care. That's free speech. I didn't take an oath to protect the flag or a song. I took an oath to protect the Constitution.
I just find it odd that people are so quiet about the free speech of the Nazis but they flip their shit when someone kneels during the anthem. No one gets hurt when those people kneel...but people do get hurt in the first scenario. That's all I'm wondering. Is why people get so mad about someone who peacefully protests and tells them to get the f* out if they don't like this country...but they will defend the right of Nazis to protest when their rallies end up in death and destruction. Also we literally fought a war against Nazis to stop them. (I know that wasn't the sole reason). But people died to stop the Nazis and yet we now have them openly out and about and people defending them. Mind boggling.
