Henry David Thoreau published Walden on this day August 9, 1854. I started to read and take notes in my copy by highlighting parts I found true or interesting, but I soon found myself highlighting and writing in the margins a bit too much. Simplify, simply, simplify.

Sometimes it is good to revisit a book as we get older. We see things in old age that we didn't when we were young. What he wrote about newspapers is as relevant today as it was in 1854.
