@PO2 Richard Cole I read this story, but those damned onion chopping ninjas attacked. It is one of those sad, but great at the same time stories. Dogs in the service have a rank, and so when they die should be treated with the same dignity that every service member deserves. Rest in Peace Cena.

Yeah, I understand the onion ninjas. We've had to make the decision for four dachshunds over the years, and I still agonize over every one of them. Was it right? Was it too soon? Only one was close to simple. He was 19 and had a quick-growing cancer in his jaw. He was too old to tolerate treatment, was in pain and have a hard time eating. LCPL Young spared his friend a lot of pain. Difficult decision, but he made his last day memorable.
