Trump transcript leak likely a federal crime, former prosecutors say

Find the leaker and throw them in jail. This is hurting the country.

It probably is against the law unless it was released by the other party. Since they are foreign governments the assumption of privacy is not always the case.

Yes, the leaks are troubling. When you undermine the ability of POTUS (the office, regardless of the current holder) to conduct some elements of foreign and national policy without full public view, you do weaken the nation. Leaks that don't provide clear evidence of criminal activity do not help the nation.

Ultimately, though, the continued leaks are symptomatic of something far greater that is being ignored here. There is a distinct lack of faith in the ability of Trump to actually lead the nation. When WH staff, many of whom could not receive their jobs without being card-carrying Republicans, leak information to the press, it means that people who are more aware of the reality of of global politics than most of the public are concerned that the US is being undermined by the President. It's very telling when people who have access to the nitty-gritty of foreign policy feel the need to leak documents that make the President look--in the case of trying or order Nieto around, at lest--foolish. When the people experienced int the field feel the need to push this information to the public, we need to consider if the issue is perhaps not the staff of the WH, but the senior leadership.
