I am fifty fifty on Norfolk. If you stay in Norfolk, then yes it is a shitty place to be stationed. The plus is that there are so many historic sites around the area that exploring makes it not so bad.

In the early 1970s, I was a Navy Communications Technician. Our worst duty station was Adak Alaska.
