Do women lie about rape?

Sadly yes. Sadly because false reports denigrate truthful reports. There are few crimes more horrific than rape as well as crimes against children (especially violations of trust). All need to be dealt with swiftly and justly. False reports waste time and make justice a difficult achievement. Yes, there should be consequences.

Yes they do. In my 30 year LE career I have seen it dozens of times. It's sad that it happens mainly because it takes away from the actual crimes that do occur. Women only hurt their own gender by telling these lies. When it's a "he said/she said" scenario (which is the vast majority of cases), reliability of the victim is crucial. When a woman lies about rape it taints every other victim out there.

I never sat through a SHARP session as that was well after my time in the Marine Corps. We didn't seem to need it back then. If they claim there is no false reporting that is a provable lie and one that only does damage to the cause. False reports of just about everything exist because people lie over little thing and big things it is part of the human condition.

If there is not consequence for false reporting (because they do not believe it happens) they will only harden the attitude people have about the training and the lack of truth and fairness in it.
