Lexi's Journey

This is the page I created for my daughter about a year ago to primarily update family and friends but I have been sharing it more as the search for a kidney continues. I believe I have a short story in her "about" section. She was born with congenital nephrotic syndrome but not diagnosed until six weeks old. She had her kidneys (yes plural) removed in November and started dialysis then to prepare for transplant. She got listed on the deceased donor list in March. The information for the transplant center is bookmarked on her page. She is 3 years old, O- so she can only receive an O donor. BUT if anyone is interested in donating you can still contact the center and see about the paired exchange program if you're not O blood type. I had two family members try but one couldn't due to diabetes in her family history and my mom is too old. Her other grandmother attempted but has to lose weight. I have had people show interest but no follow through that I know about. The most I would like is for people to share this story with as many people as they can. I see stories in the news about kids and adults getting matched with a kidney and I hope soon that's my daughter.
