Seems the Iranians understand Trump's big stick diplomacy and opted to withdraw. I don't really care what the Iranians think about us and our foreign policy so long as they demonstrate the proper respect.

Clearly they had no respect for Obama -- even though he gave them everything they wanted. We got nothing from them but contempt in return for our concessions. Obama allowed them to humiliate our sailors and get away with it. They mocked Kerry and Obama's stupid foreign policy in their papers. That's what you get when you negotiate from a position of weakness!

That relationship changed when Trump took office. We will demonstrate our resolve and negotiate fairly but from a position of strength. We will not apologize for seeking to advance our interests. It's what every country is expected to do.

The Iranians tested our resolve and got the answer they were looking for, but not the one they wanted. They hoped to find our Navy just as impotent as it was under Obama's "lead from behind" so-called leadership and what they found was a Navy that was alert and prepared to stand its ground in International waters.
