We have to ask ourselves, is there a mission-oriented reason that transgender people should be recruited and serve in the US Military?

My answer is, no. I believe there are an adequate number of people qualified to serve who are not transgender to allow the Services to fill the needed number of new enlisted, WO, and Officer positions without transgender individuals.

Yes, this is discrimination. It is occasionally necessary to discriminate against some people for the good of the service and to accomplish the mission. Currently serving transgender personnel should be offered a choice to leave under honorable conditions in a short time (90 days). If they have served honorably, they should be entitled to VA benefits.

Neither the DoD or VA should be asked to pay for the extensive psychological and physical medical costs of sex reassignment.
