There are a couple of things that are not mentioned that I will bring up for the sake of honesty. Roosevelt (FDR) was very sympathetic to the black cause as was his wife. Elenor Roosevelt allowed her self the be flown by a Tuskegee Airman etc. Then it was Harry Truman that integrated the armed forces. These two acts helped create good will among blacks. The media have worked over time to erase the racism of the Democrats.

CPT Jack Durish - PO1 John Crafton - There is no myth. The fact that the parties have switched platforms is documented history. The Democrats used to be the Conservative Party, and the Republicans were the Progressive Party That changed during the '50s & '60s. Most notably, right after the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts were passed and signed into law. Any attempt to deny that fact is nothing more than revisionist history, regardless of the credentials of the person spouting it.
