It's all about perceptions for them. Ads only succeed if they sell the product. Telling ad agencies how to sell product is probably something government needs to stay out of. Reality doesn't care about perception. Testosterone is real, and males have 15 to 18 times as much as females once puberty hits. Men and women are unequal. Get used to it.

What's the problem with this? It's not even the US it's the UK. Gender stereotypes are ridiculous. Toys are toys. Kids can play with any toy they want. They should play with any toy they want that is age appropriate or if they are able to handle it.

Yeah - why do we need to have gender stereotypes in commercials? That's why I said toys are toys. There really are no "girl" or "boy" toys. Boys can play with dolls, girls can play with trucks or whatever has been stereotypically "boy" toys. My daughter play with dolls and race cars and any toy. She actually really prefers to play with doctor stuff since she's so used to being around all the medical stuff. We don't need to be telling kids that girls only play with certain toys and boys only play with certain toys.
And it's the UK's standard for their commercials. Not the US. Each country has their own standards committee for TV, movies and music.
